Historical Divertissements
6. April 2024 • Old town hall • Nuremberg
Allow yourself to be carried away into the past.
Experience an evening in the style
of the 16th century with charm, gallantry,
etiquette, nobility and honor.
There are several events around
the Nuremberg town hall that invites you
to celebrate with their 500th anniversaries.
Be it the "Nuremberg Dance Statutes"
for the town hall balls,
be it Albrecht Dürer's commission
for a new town hall hall,
which became a jewel and one
of the world's most outstanding halls
before the Sistine Chapel
was completed.
With our ball we want to tie in with the balls
of the patricians and fill the wonderful hall with life.
Let's show Nuremberg how wonderful history can be...
Experience it yourself...
A grand divertissement in historical garb, with games and dance
and many seductions of patrician life.
At the magnificent festival
with enticing games and merrymaking,
we want to indulge in the festive mood
and lose ourselves in it.
The Nuremberg town hall hall is
the fitting and glamorous setting
to spend a truly grandiose ball
in the style and with the dances
of the Renaissance.
As always, the focus is on dancing
and the desire for a charming encounter.
The event is characterized above all
by the use of original historical dances
between 1500 and 1600.

Enjoyable historical ballroom dancing
There are many dances,
on the one hand highly noble dances of the Italian Renaissance,
as well as the somewhat coarser French Arbeau dances,
all of which are danced together in the amusing form
of a dance floor with a "caller".
The musicians of the Nuremberg Schembart Society
take on the musical arrangement of the evening.
The program consists of light and amusing dances.
